Cassie and I popped up to New York for a short trip on Monday and took pictures of, well everything.
Spotted a girl on the street with a FABULOUS floral print bag, ate lunch in the East Village, hit the Top Shop sale, grabbed cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery on Bleeker and then off to drop the fam off at JFK.
My shorts are from Dorothy Perkins and run up to a UKSize22. They are super lightweight and comfy... I highly recommend!

My Love Affair with Cole Haan Nike Air Shoes
Heels, especially pumps, can be very, very painful. So what's a fashionista to do? Buy heels infused with Nike Air technology!
Cole Haan has teamed up with Nike to create super comfortable footwear. I've found pumps, boots, sandals, flats, you name it, they make it!
Admittedly, the first time I wore the red pumps on the White on White Cruise, it was a bit painful, but the more I wear them, the more the feel like... well Nike sneakers!
Don't believe me? Gorgeous model Denise Bidot tried mine on and said they feel like flip-flops!
The caveat is the price. A pair of pumps retails for about $250+; HOWEVER, I've found killer deals on Cole Haan at both Nordstrom and DSW (up to %60 off!).
The boots I found at DSW for $74.99 (Originally $250), the wedges, DSW, $86 (Originally $200), and the Red Pumps, Nordstrom, $123 (Originally $248).
Don't miss out on Nordstrom's upcoming Anniversary sale in July! (A fab opportunity to score your own Cole Haan's with Nike Air Technology!)

Not Your Mama's Kmart: Kmart Blogger Conference Post for Madison Plus
On Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending Kmart’s Blogger Brunch to showcase Kmart’s latest plus size collection “LYS – Love Your Style.”
I was so impressed by host Jorge Ramón and designers Nicole Magnani and Sarah Morgan, who eloquently explained their desire to fill the void of stylish, contemporary plus clothing that “offer a wider array and a more democratic fit.” From what I’ve seen, they’ve done just that! The summer LYS line is young, hip and extremely affordable. The line is currently available in sizes 1X- 3X with a 0X coming soon....

Lessons Learned from Full Figured Fashion Week: Show some skin!
Show some skin!
“I still know you wear a 22 if you cover you arms” notes Kmart Senior Plus Designer Nicole Magnani. I couldn’t agree more. Covering your arms for any reason other than being cold is for others, not for you. SHOW SOME SKIN! If it’s 90 degrees out, rock a tank, especially from Kmart’s Love Your Style collection. LYS has cute affordable pieces for summer available now!
Me with Designers Sarah Morgan and Nicole Magnani of Kmart's Love Your Style.
Some of my favorite looks from the LYS Collection (now available in store!).
Stunning, sexy ladies Elizabeth Seifu, Allison mcGevna, Maddy Figueroa-Jones from Plus Model Magazine, Lindsey Garbelman and Telha Nesbitt.

Lessons Learned from Full Figured Fashion Week: Lane Bryant Knows Sizing
Lane Bryant Knows Sizing.
There's a reason Lane Bryant has been around forever: when it comes to plus size fit, lane bryant knows that consistency is king. Here is what I've learned:
“A 20, is a 20, is a 20”
quips Lane Bryant’s Fit director Robert. He noted that his goal is to ensure sizes are consistent across all styles to create a pleasant shopping experience.
What does it mean to be straight, curvy, or very curvy? These labels (or colors at Lane Bryant) refer to the ration of waist to hips.
Straight: For women who's waist is relatively even with their hips, look for a "Yellow" right-fit pant at Lane Bryan.
Curvy: Approximately 70% of Lane Bryant's customers prefer the fit of "Red" right-fit pants - for a woman who's waist that is relatively smaller than her hips.
Very Curvy: For a woman who's waist is significantly smaller than her hips (or who's hips are significantly larger than her waist? Tomato - tomato). Look for a "Blue" right fit pant.
Ever worn shorts that ride up in the front when you walk? THE MYSTERY HAS BEEN SOLVED! It's not you - it's what's called the saddle of the short.
As the fit technology director Robert explained, the saddle is one of the most important parts of the construction of bottoms of plus size clothing. If not done properly, it will cause the garment to rise or pull when walking. Hallelujah!!
Stay tuned for more on the Lane Bryant Blogger Conference that will be posted at MadisonPlus.com

Designer Interview: Rachel Pally
Check out my interview with designer Rachel Pally for MadisonPlus.com.
Known for the incredible versatility of her designs, designer Rachel Pally has taken Los Angeles by storm, appealing to women’s love of fashion and comfort. In 2007, she launched her plus size collection, The White Label. Rachel’s mission is “To provide quality, comfort and style to women of all shapes and sizes.” Her feminine, exciting designs bring high fashion to plus sizes.
You’ve said that you are inspired by “women you know, women you see on the street…” Is there any particular plus size woman who inspires you? My fit model, the gorgeous Rachel Richardson! She is young and sexy and hip and dresses with such confidence and ease! I love the way she owns her body and shows off her curves! And right now I’m obsessed with Melissa McCarthy from Bridesmaids. DIY: the Perfect Gym Tank
Check out my MadisonPlus Feature on the perfect do it yourself racer-back tank for the gym!
How to make the perfect gym tank:
Personally, I prefer the freedom tank tops afford your arms, but I’m often put off by the tight cut of fitness tops.
How to make the perfect gym tank:
If you’re like me, comfort is one of the most important elements of working out. As such, nothing bothers me more than ill-fitting clothes at the gym, especially generic T-shirts with tight crew necks and awkward sleeves!
Personally, I prefer the freedom tank tops afford your arms, but I’m often put off by the tight cut of fitness tops.
The solution: Combine the excellent range of motion of tank tops and the looseness of a T-shirt by cutting your T-shirt into a racer back tank...
